Political Rejections to the Project!
My efforts to seek opinions and views from leaders of our various political parties continues in a diligent manner. I won’t give up, as I feel it is important to seek some views these people place on the Small Business sector. Rather than bore you with a separate page for each rejection, here is a snapshot of some of the rejection emails I have so far received. Seems most are just too busy to give a scripted party based reply to 5-6 questions!
Below you will find replies from Kate Gallagher- ACT Chief Minister, Nick Xenophon- SA Senator and Tony Abbott MHR and Leader of the Opposition (and I have had this reply twice to two emails, as I am persistent until I get my ‘No Thanks’).
In addition to this, there are still several political figures including some Independent members who have been contacted, and a response is being awaited on.
On the 13/5/13 I received a call from Bob Katter’s office advising that Mr. Katter could not fulfil the time for the project, but was very apologetic and positive of the concept and said he was in support of it. I did then ask if a written reply could be offered, but this was unable to be done. It was at least a very genuine call (or so I felt anyway) and a personal touch. Mr Barr’s office in Canberra is the only other one who has been s personal in their dealing with the requests.
Kate Gallagher – Chief Minister ACT
Dear Tony
Thank you for your correspondence requesting the Chief Minister participates in the ‘small’ interview project.
Unfortunately, due to the Chief Minister’s demanding schedule she is unable to participate and sends her apologies.
I have forwarded your request to the office of the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Andrew Barr for his attention and consideration.
Regards

Nick Xenophon – Independent Senator Sth Australia
Dear Tony,
Thank you for the email to Nick and I apologise for the delay in getting back to you. Nick is currently out of the office, but has asked I respond to you on his behalf.
Unfortunately given his extensive upcoming commitments, Nick will be unable to participate in the Small Interview Project.
Best wishes for your project.
Kind regards,
Sally

Tony Abbott MHR – Opposition Leader- Liberal Party
Thank you for taking the time to make contact with the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon Tony Abbott MHR.
This is an automated response so that you can be sure your email has reached our office.
We will do our best to follow-up your email in good time but please bear with us.
Mr Abbott receives a very large volume of emails per day and unlike the Government, we do not have additional resources or departmental officials to assist with correspondence. In our case, all emails are handled personally by this office.
